There's nothing better than a cold, rainy summer...right? Its been gloomy all day so I was forced against my will to take pictures inside. Okay maybe I'm exaggerating just a bit, but I really wasn't in the mood for getting wet and I don't think my camera was either. Crappy photo quality aside, I think I've hands down found my new favorite pair of jeans. Never going back to low rise jeans and honestly, probably never going back to jeans that aren't from Cheap Monday either.

This was my take on comfort for a day at Gothenburg's botanical garden. My tired mind somehow tricked me into thinking that I had absolutely no wearable clothes of my own, causing me to more than gladly turn to my mother's closet. This tends to happen regardless of the number of hours I've slept, but sleep deprivation is going to have to be my excuse for the day. There's something strangely comforting about wearing her clothes and something ever so pleasing about matching stripes with stripes. Then of course there's the shoes. I never thought hand me down Nike's could make me so happy, but they never fail to treat me well.

My opinion of how to dress whilst traveling has always been relatively black and white- you either wear sweatpants and a messy bun or eliminate the idea of comfort completely in attempt to look somewhat presentable. Lately I've been striving for balance in close to every aspect of my life so I figured that balance might be applicable to my skewed perception of the strangely friendly relationship that actually does exist between traveling and comfort. Traveling and comfort actually approached me hand in hand when I put on my new (dare I say favorite?) pair of pants. These pants are so deceivingly comfortable that I was constantly expecting to look down to find that I was actually wearing pajamas throughout the entirety of my two hour car ride yesterday. Thank you Weekday for helping me finally find this balance that I've been searching for for much too long.
How do you guys tend to dress while traveling? I hope you're all having a great weekend!

The process of creating a blogpost today almost felt like a foreign concept. I subconsciously gave myself of blogging break over the span of the last 5 days and it really helped me realize how much learning from each individual's personal style and being able to share this aspect of my life with all of you really means to me. So here I am, 5 days later, filled with new inspiration and goals for what I want this blog to become, writing to you about what I wore yesterday and feeling awfully content with most things. Yesterday it decided to rain and I therefore jumped on the opportunity to match my new gray dress to the gray weather. If theres one thing I've learned so far on this trip its that shopping affects me like a drug, once I start I just want more and more. Can any of you relate?
I hope you've all had as great of a start to your summers as I have. I want to thank each and every one of you who takes the time to read and comment on my blog, it means the world. Much love!

Inspiration and Clarification

For those of you who read my last post, I vaguely mentioned that I'd be traveling in the near future. To clarify, I'm currently sitting in the airport waiting to board a plane to Sweden. Along with all of the stress and excitement that comes with traveling, I have shaking arms and a racing heart. Not to mention my brain is running in countless different directions. That being said, you're going to have to excuse my word vomit and uncohesive photos. I pulled inspiration from places I didn't even know existed and in result I have a hodgepodge of pictures for you guys.

Further clarifying, I'm spending my entire summer in Sweden. I'm going back to my hometown to visit family, friends, and quite frankly to have the summer of my life. Do you guys have any special plans for the summer?

I think that at this point in my life its safe to say that its become tradition for me to borrow anything and everything when I go over to my friend Helena's house. After school I hurried over to her place to get dressed for our reservations at our local tea room. I arrived with my outfit packed and ready but somehow ended up heading out the door dressed in her clothes from head to toe... hmm...maybe its because Helena has the closet of a stereotypical Dane, or maybe its because I'm experiencing early stages of a pre-traveling freak-out. Regardless of the reason, I looked in the mirror and felt awfully Scandinavian. Needless to say, I miss home. Friday can't come soon enough. But not to complain, you can't really go wrong with a full afternoon tea with two of your closest friends.
Please excuse the poor photo quality, my camera lens instantly fogged when we stepped outside due to the humidity. I hope you're all doing well! :)

Rainbows and such

Rain calls for comfy pants and sunshine calls for tanks and sandals. The weather was slightly indecisive but my outfit was not. I combined both aspects of the weather and giggled at the thought of being the equivalence of a walking rainbow.

Yesterday was a great day. Brunch with mother dearest, a candlelit bath, a bike ride with my darling, kitty loving, a deluge of imagination and fascinating ideas, and then to top it all off was a felafel party complete with homemade peach pie. I can't complain, and really, "great" does the day no justice. What did you guys do this weekend?
